House of the Dragon S1 E7 - Thoughts

Man, no matter how much they try to twist the world-building to justify it, I still get really uncomfortable with these incest romances. The second the mood shifts it’s just an escalating in volume “No, no, no, no, NO!” from me. Like, bro, that ain’t cool. Like even now, I’m like not feeling it. How did this start, bro!? This isn’t right! You’ve gotta SAY something like, “My behavior was inappropriate, and I should never have acted like that.” And then you gotta mean it. Maybe give it another year. 

Fun element they’re doing with Young Aemond. Making him a more tragic figure. He was “in love” with his sister and then will be in love with another lady later and kind of bullied by his brother. He comes off more likable and humble than young Aegon. 

Never mind he was a total jackass to his cousins immediately after mastering that dragon. Dude! You should be riding high on the high of riding a dragon! You shouldn’t be acting like a dick, you should all be celebrating! As loudly as possible! That was freaking awesome! How can you act calmly, this is the coolest thing that’s ever happened to you! 

Man, people on this show just can’t choose to be happy or content at moments everyone else would be. 

Hey, I don’t get why people in this unrealistically terrible, violence-as-a-rule world aren’t more blasé about an injury like losing an eye. Hey, real sorry, son. That’s terrible. But you’ve taken an injury in battle. Everyone knows you have grit. It hurts, and I would never wish this on you. But now that it’s here, it gives you strength as well as pain. Also, don’t freaking fight each other! Each one of you needs to think about what you’re saying and sometimes, choose not to say it!
