    After a slump in its third episode, episode 4 of Loki continues the show's bombastic, mysterious time travel plot. After a lackluster third episode where the plot ground to a halt, Loki springs back into action with a heart-pounding fourth episode that brings plot developments to a head and unravels the mystery of the Time-Keepers. 

    Having bonded with his opposite-gender counterpart Sylvie, Loki finds himself under scrutiny once again, as the Time Variance Agents rescue them from a potential apocalypse and bring them back for questioning. "What's your relationship to her?" asks Agent Mobius. "Are you in love with her?" 

    Loki himself doesn't have an answer, but he's not the only one. The show gives us flashbacks, snippets of Sylvie's life, and snapshots of Ravonna - the Time Agent chief responsible for overseeing the Agency. She's the only one who seems to be worrying about the situation, and it’s hinted it’s because she knows something we don’t. With parts of Sylive’s backstory revealed, it becomes clear that Ravonna is intimately connected to all of this, and things come to a head in a sensational meeting with the Time-Keepers themselves, where Loki and Sylvie start getting some answers. Tightly plotted, enchantingly crafted, and maintaining its mysterious charm, Loki Episode 4 is a triumph
